Ursula maintains strength; storm signals lifted off Neg Occ

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Typhoon Ursula maintains its strength and is seen off the coast of Occidental Mindoro moving west-northwest at 20 kph, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph.

In Negros Occidental, meanwhile, all storm signals have been lifted as Ursula has moved past the province, Severe Weather Bulletin #19 said.

PAGASA, however, warns that “as soon as the eye moves out of the area, violent conditions associated with the eyewall will resume”.
