Bacolod now has Patient 13

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines — Bacolod now has a new confirmed case, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 13 since the city had its Patient 1 last March 20.

Inter-Agency Task Force spokesperson physician Grace Tan told DNX that Patient 13 is one of those repatriated last 13 May, 2020.   Patient 13, a 41-year-old male, is now facility-quarantined here.

According to the latest processed data of the City Health Office, seven of the confirmed cases have fully recovered, three are facility-quarantined, and three have died.

The latest case was asymptomatic.  His test results came out today.

More OFWs are expected to arrive in the coming days, especially with the directive of President Duterte earlier giving the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the Department of Health, and the Department of Labor and Employment one week to facilitate the return of 24,000 OFWs to their respective home provinces, towns, or cities.

The Department of Interior and Local Government has also given LGUs and regional and provincial offices three days – starting 25 to 27 of May – to accommodate and facilitate the unhampered transport of OFWs.
