Bacolod has 29th case, LSI from Cebu

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Bacolod has a new case, a 26-year-old male Locally Stranded Individual from Cebu and resident of barangay 1.

The latest case is currently under facility quarantine. This brings the total running tally to 29. Of the number, 17 have recovered, three died. The rest, nine, are active cases.

Of the number, one is on home quarantine, and eight on continued facility quarantine.

Patient 29 is currently under facility quarantine. His records show that he exited Cebu via Tabuelan and arrived in Bacolod via city bus from Escalante last 12 June, 2020. He was brought directly to the facility.

His swab specimen was collected three days later, 15 June, and his RT-PCR test results came out positive last 23 June, 2020.

It was not clear if he had an RT-PCR or rapid test in Cebu before coming to Bacolod.

He is asymptomatic.

Patient 29 is Bacolod’s third recorded LSI with positive results. Since the start of the Hatid Probinsiya program of the government last May, the city has had 20 confirmed cases. Of the number, 14 are repatriated OFWs, and three are LSIs.

The Hatid Probinsiya program is spearheaded by the Department of Transportation, and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration to help facilitate the return of stranded individuals – both OFW, and locals – to their home provinces.
