BACOLOD CITY – Angels, they say, come in different forms, but for a young mother rushing her baby to the hospital, that angel took on the form of a Grab driver, June Claridad Veloso, who did not only service her but also did not accept payment for it.
And his good deed caught the eye of the youngest – elected councilor here who lauded him for it.
“Humanity exists, indeed” Councilor Israel Salanga said on his Facebook post after sharing the gratitude post of Nanette Grace Ines who expressed her thanks to the driver online.
“Whoever knows this man, please tell him thank you very much, “Ines said in her post.
In the subsequent lines, Ines said “Sir, THANK YOU2 SO MUCH!!! Sa pag dasig2 mo drive kay git-om2 na si Niana kag wala mo ginbaton ang bayad kay hambal mo dugang na lang namon sa galastuhon sa hospital. ANG GINOO TA NA LANG BAHALA MAGBALIK SANG KAMAAYUHAN SA IMO. Swerte gid ka pamilya mo nimo Sir, GOD BLESS YOU kag kabay pa damo nga paryus simo. SALAMAT SIR JUNE CLARIDAD VELOSO. SALUDO SIR!”
“Sir, thank you, thank you so much for driving very fast because Niana was turning very purple already and you did not even accept my payment. You told me to just use it for our hospital bills. The Lord knows how to pay you back for the goodness you have shown. Your family is very lucky. Sir, god bless you and may your tribe increase. Thank you, sir June Claridad Veloso. I salute you, sir!”
Ines told DNX Niana was her one-month old baby with a medical condition and needed to be rushed to the hospital the other night.
The driver fetched her from Santo Nino sub-village in Sum-ag and brought her to the Doctor’s Hospital, at least eight kilometers away, where her baby is now confined.
